Recipe Details
- 1 head romaine lettuce
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup toasted almonds (can be sugared)
- 2 cans mandarin oranges
- Feta cheese crumbed over the top (optional)
- ¾ cups sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp dry mustard (you can use French mustard but add a little more)
- 1 tbsp dried minced onion (you can use a bit of red onion instead)
- 1/3 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup oil

1 cup toasted almonds (can be sugared)
2 cans mandarin oranges
Optional Feta cheese crumbed over the top
(I add chicken to this salad to make it more of a meal.)
Dressing:
¾ cups sugar
1 tsp salt
1 ½ tsp dry mustard (you can use French mustard but add a little more)
1 tbsp dried minced onion (you can use a bit of red onion instead)
1/3 cup white vinegar
Add all ingredients into blender and blend. Then slowly add 1 cup oil. DO NOT put the dressing on until just before you serve. Then toss and enjoy.
You can toast the almonds in the oven or you can put the in a frying pan and cook them. The frying pan is faster.
Sugared almonds:1 cup sliced almonds
6 tbsp granulated sugar
Stir these together in a frying pan over medium head until sugar begins to melt. Keep stirring until almonds are coated and begin to turn golden brown. Spread out on foil to cool.
