2 Cups Scalded Milk (I put milk in microwave until hot. Cool to luke warm)
1/2 Cup Shortening (butter flavor)
2 pkgs. yeast
1/2 Cup warm water
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 Cup sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 Cup Mashed Potatoes
7 Cups Flour
Soften yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Pour milk over shortening. Allow to cool to lukewarm. Add milk mixture with eggs, sugar, salt, mashed potatoes, and 4 cups flour. Beat with mixer until smooth and well blended (this is a soft, sticky dough). Add remaining 3 cups of flour after everything is blended smoothly. Let rise until double. Roll out and cut into circles (you can use the top of a glass, or biscuit cutter). Dip end in butter and fold in half. Place on cookie sheet and let rise until double. Bake in oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
