Ingredients:
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups bran flakes
- 5 cups flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 qt buttermilk
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups all bran buds
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
Mix and soak until cool:
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups bran flakes
Sift together in a large separate bowl:
- 5 cups flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp salt
Add water and bran flakes to flour when cool.
Add:
- 1 qt buttermilk
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups all bran buds
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
Mix all together. Bake in greased muffin tins at 375° for 20 minutes.
Can store batter in covered container in refrigerator for 7 weeks or freeze.
