Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 5 to 5½ cups flour
- 2 tsp soda
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 bags chocolate chips
Cream together:
1 cup butter

Add and cream together:
2 cups sugar
2 cups brown sugar
Add and cream together:
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
Add and mix until dough:
5 to 5½ cups flour
2 tsp soda
2 tsp salt
Add:
2 bags chocolate chips
Variation:
Add peanut butter and chocolate chips
I use a medium cookie scoop and bake 20 of them on a big silver cookie sheet at 375° for 11-12 minutes just until edges are barely golden.
