Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, to 240° on candy thermometer:
2 cups sugar
1 cup Karo
½ cup water
Add:
1 T butter
1 cup raw peanuts
1 tsp vanilla
a little salt
Constantly stir until it turns golden brown (300°). Watch carefully so it doesn’t burn.
Add:
1 tsp soda (make sure there are no chunks!)
Stir really good and immediately pour onto a very well greased cookie sheet.
